Appointments may be available outside regular Salon hours, Sundays and Holidays, however a non-refundable-non transferable fee and advance request apply. This is a paid in advance fee charged for special hours and will not be used toward your service bill.

Any type of consulting over 15 minutes is considered a service and priced per hour. Be sure to specify the type of consultation your requesting, this will help me be prepared. Please arrive with clean, dry hair. Bringing pictures of your desired look, color or style will help you and your stylist understand you. The consulting service cost is Non-refundable or Non-transferable.

During the consultation I will determine:

• what needs to be done
• if we need to order products or tools,
• if it can be achieved

Together you and I will describe your hair and decide what will work best for you. You may read or hear about some new techniques or services, I provided some stylist Terminology that may be useful. Hair Analysis or Skin Patch Tests may be necessary at this time. 48 hours are necessary for a proper skin patch test. It is very helpful to bring a list of past chemical history and allergies.

Price quotes vary depending on hair length, hair density, hair texture and complexity of desired look. More time consuming or involved techniques cost more. Quotes are given, but unexpected results can happen during the process and additional charges could results. All additional charges will be discussed before proceeding.

• For chemical services I ask that you wear the smock provided for protection of your clothing.
• If you would like to be served by another technician or wish a fresh point of view, please let me know.
• Waiting List – When it seems impossible to coordinate your busy schedule with the appointments available at the time of your call… please request to also be put on a Waiting List. Due to cancellations, I am frequently able to schedule an appointment at your most convenient time.
• Last Minute Appointments – I encourage you to call me at the “last minute” for appointments. I often have opportunities to arrange appointments on the day of your call.

1. Setting yourself up for success. This is an important one. By booking your next appointment before you walk out the door, you can be assured that your first-choice appointment date and time is available. You can also be sure that your hair stylist will have more than enough time to accommodate all of your needs without trying to squeeze your appointment into a requested time slot. This makes for the absolute best service possible.
2. No more hair rage! We’ve all been there – it’s been way too long since you were last in, and your outgrowth can no longer be camouflaged, or your hair will just not “lay right” anymore. By booking your appointment in advance, your spot will be secured and you can get in right on schedule to freshen your color or get your hair cut. Your hair stylist can recommend the best amount of time in between visits to get the most longevity out of your hair without getting to the point where you wish it was appropriate to wear a baseball cap to a fancy dinner.
3. Money in your pocket. Perhaps the best motivator of all: There is rewards and discounts for booked appointments. The specials change, but be sure to ask!

Our haircuts include a 5 minute consultation to communicate any difficulties with your current design before the cut, blow dry and detailing. At Mary L Hair & Body Care we always detail our haircuts once the hair has been dried. It's the difference between getting just a hair cut and getting it professionally designed for you. Once the hair is dry, it's easy to find those little hairs that get missed during the wet cutting, as well as adding texture and removing bulk where you need it. If you have never had your hair cut this way, you're sure to notice the difference and you'll never settle for less again. We will design any cut to your liking, but our three basic TYPES of cuts are as follows:

• Dusting – barely any hair is removed. This is designed for someone who would like to keep their hair length. In other words, just remove the dead ends.
• The Cut – this is designed to maintain that hair cut you like. You will need to come in to the salon every 4 to 8 weeks to maintain that particular style.
• Dry cut – designed on clean, dry hair.
• Couture – this is done when you want a completely new look especially designed for you. More time is needed for a couture.

Styling is the perfect option whether getting ready for a flashy event or just want to feel special. Color services include a rough dry finish. Round brush or Iron work are listed as an add-on service, discounted when paired with other services. Please mention when scheduling if more time is usually required to style your hair. TIP: Is there any point in someone with straight hair getting a blowout? Yes, It will give your hair more volume, more texture and more shape than if you let your hair dry naturally. It just feels good! It will give you a mental pick-me-up.

Dryer Chair: The amount of time you spend under the dryer will depend on your hair’s length and thickness. Most roller sets will spend at least a half an hour under the dryer, so get comfortable.

No, it's not inexpensive or even quick. But it works and offers spectacular thermal reconditioning results.

It is certified as Formaldehyde-Free and deeply conditions with Keratin.

The new Rusk Str8 is officially known as Rusk Thermal Shiny Str8™ and is available in two formulas.

It is very time consuming and can take 4-8 hours depending on the length, thickness and texture of the Str8 client.

If you’re considering undergoing waxing to remove unwanted hair, the question most often asked is: what are the prices? Waxing Prices can vary depending the area you are having waxed. Both men and women take full advantage of waxing services to get that smooth, hair free look.

I do not recommend facial waxing if using Renova, Accutane, Retin-A, Differin, or any products containing Alpha Hydroxy. If under the care of a dermatologist, consult prior to the appointment is recommended. Waxing areas may be more sensitive before and during your menstrual cycle. When scheduling your appointment, please make sure your facial hair is 1/8 inch long by the time of your appointment.

I use 2 different waxes depending on your skin type and preference. Both are made for sensitive, reactive, and acne skin.

We also offer a tweezers only option

• warm towel to soften the hair folicle
• soothing chamomile oil to create a comforting barrier on skin
• trim, wax, and finish with tweezer to fine tune the shape

We offer complimentary rough dry finish with our Color services. COLOR does not include cut. Consultation and extra time is recommended when booking for a new all over color, or if you need corrective.

Keep in mind, color does not lighten color. If your hair is currently color-treated, You will need to look at:

• Highlights or color removal to lighten your overall look
• Color Balance to maintain your current shade
• Going Darker
• Going Lighter does not automatically mean blond – You can still be a lighter redhead or brunette.

These two categories are two which CAN’T be mixed with the regular hair color system. Meaning, you can’t color over these, they either have to grow out or be removed.

Metallic Hair Dyes are most popular for men. They use metallic salts which will color and coat the hair, gradually adding more color with each use.

Henna coats the hair and colors. It will create a coating around the hair each time it is used making the hair shaft impenetrable for other colors. Mostly, henna will thicken the diameter of the hair texture as it colors.

Henna does contain metallic salts and metallic salts react with chemical hair coloring. It will produce heat, heat that will burn!

This is why it is important to remove before using any chemical form of coloring.

Color Removal may be used for corrective color service. May also be needed when altering or removing the tone or changing the level of the color. Great for removing color buildup and for softening the new growth in between highlighting services.

SINGLE PROCESS COLOR is the application of color or lightener to the new growth, mid- growth and ends of hair. All hair from root through ends is covered with the same color.Pr ice includes a single process color with up to 2 bowls (3 oz) of color. SINGLE PROCESS COLOR BASE Add on to all single process

SINGLE PROCESS COLOR PER SECTION. Full head application is 12 sections. The application of color to the new growth, mid- growth and ends of hair. All hair from root through ends is covered with the same color. A Color Balance is needed when the overall color has lost its tone and has faded more than one level. Color tends to fade due to sun exposure, swimming or the use of harsh shampoos.

Bleaching/toning would be an example of a double-process. The cost will be based on how many processes have to be done to achieve the color. The first step is lifting hair to correct level, shampoo, condition, and prepping hair for color process determined by your desired results. May require multi applications, color removal, bleach bath, or even several appointments. Bleach and tone is designed to change hair to a lighter/or platinum color. Service prices may vary than posted, consultation is recommended.

After your first lightening, your underlying pigment will be exposed so its going to look between reddish/orange or maybe even gold, depending on how well your hair lifts. After the initial visit, you will see how your hair responds to lightening and it may be much simpler after that with bleach baths. as long as you keep up with protein and hydrating treatments, bleach baths can be done weekly, typically they lift by 1-2 shades per session.
