By booking your next appointment before you walk out the door, you can be assured that your first-choice appointment date and time is available. You can also be sure that your hair stylist will have more than enough time to accommodate all of your needs without trying to squeeze your appointment into a requested time slot. This makes for the absolute best service possible.
2. No more hair rage! We’ve all been there – it’s been way too long since you were last in, and your outgrowth can no longer be camouflaged, or your hair will just not “lay right” anymore. By booking your appointment in advance, your spot will be secured and you can get in right on schedule to freshen your color or get your hair cut. Your hair stylist can recommend the best amount of time in between visits to get the most longevity out of your hair without getting to the point where you wish it was appropriate to wear a baseball cap to a fancy dinner.

At Mary L Hair & Body Care we always detail our haircuts once the hair has been dried. It's the difference between getting just a hair cut and getting it professionally designed for you. Once the hair is dry, it's easy to find those little hairs that get missed during the wet cutting, as well as adding texture and removing bulk where you need it. If you have never had your hair cut this way, you're sure to notice the difference and you'll never settle for less again. We will design any cut to your liking, but our four basic TYPES of cuts are as follows:

TYPES OF CUTS

• Dusting – barely any hair is removed. This is designed for someone who would like to keep their hair length. In other words, just remove the dead ends.
• The Cut – this is designed to maintain that hair cut you like. You will need to come in to the salon every 4 to 8 weeks to maintain that particular style.
• Dry cut – designed on clean, dry hair.
• Couture – this is done when you want a completely new look especially designed for you. More time is needed for a couture.

Styling is the perfect option whether getting ready for a flashy event or just want to feel special. Color and permanent wave services include a rough dry finish. Round brush or Iron work are discounted $5 when paired with other hair care services. Please mention when scheduling if more time is usually required to style your hair.

TIP: Is there any point in someone with straight hair getting a blowout? Yes, It will give your hair more volume, more texture and more shape than if you let your hair dry naturally. It just feels good! It will give you a mental pick-me-up.

Dryer Chair: The amount of time you spend under the dryer will depend on your hair’s length and thickness. Most roller sets will spend at least a half an hour under the dryer, so get comfortable.

If you’re considering undergoing waxing to remove unwanted hair, the question most often asked is: what are the prices? Waxing Prices can vary depending the area you are having waxed. Both men and women take full advantage of waxing services to get that smooth, hair free look.

I do not recommend facial waxing if using Renova, Accutane, Retin-A, Differin, or any products containing Alpha Hydroxy. If under the care of a dermatologist, consult prior to the appointment is recommended. Waxing areas may be more sensitive before and during your menstrual cycle. When scheduling your appointment, please make sure your facial hair is 1/8 inch long by the time of your appointment.

I use 2 different waxes depending on your skin type and preference. Both are made for sensitive, reactive, and acne skin.

We offer complimentary rough dry finish with our Color services. COLOR does not include cut. Consultation is required when booking for a new all over color, which can become a color correction service.

Keep in mind, color does not lighten color. If your hair is currently color-treated, You will need to look at:

• Highlights or color removal to lighten your overall look
• Color Balance to maintain your current shade
• Going Darker
• Going Lighter does not automatically mean blond – You can still be a lighter Redhead or Brunette.

You probably have heard the terms TOUCH UP and RETOUCH. At Mary L's we refer to touch up as a partial on the roots or throughout the whole strand, but only in a particular area of the head such as the front only. A Retouch is the same color that you currently have applied to the entire head, but at the roots only, that is why we use the word “re”.

A single process should be touched up or retouched at the new hair growth every four to six weeks and the entire length usually needs refreshing every eight to twelve weeks. Your Stylist will develop a formula especially for your hair condition, color, and length using specially formulated products to keep your desired color healthy, vibrant and shiny.

Bleaching/toning would be an example of a double-process. The cost will be based on how many processes have to be done to achieve the color. The first step is lifting hair to correct level, shampoo, condition, and prepping hair for color process determined by your desired results. May require multi applications, color removal, bleach bath, or even several appointments. Bleach and tone is designed to change hair to a lighter/or platinum color. Service prices may vary, consultation is recommended.

After your first lightening, your underlying pigment will be exposed so its going to look between reddish/orange or maybe even gold, depending on how well your hair lifts. After the initial visit, you will see how your hair responds to lightening and it may be much simpler after that with bleach baths. as long as you keep up with protein and hydrating treatments, bleach baths can be done weekly, typically they lift by 1-2 shades per session.

Hair can be up to 4-inches in length and no darker than medium brown LEVEL 5 to qualify for our standard bleach and tone service. If your hair is darker than medium brown, has been previously colored, and/or longer than 4-inches, please call and schedule a consultation. We do this to ensure an accurate price quote and approximate how much time the service will take to complete.

The most popular way to high light or low light the hair is with highlighting paper (foils). I can use different techniques such as weaving or slicing, unique placement of the foils, and or multi colors to create your own desired look. A maintenance plan is easy with foils and can vary to your own liking. For example, a full head of foils can be followed by two returns at 4-6 weeks at the crown to touch up the regrowth before another full head is needed. Some clients will have 3 month intervals between services and alternate between a full and a partial.

A high density of foils within these patterns, may move the price point to the next highest pattern price point. Likewise with thin hair, stylist may adjust to next lowest pattern. Additional charges may be added for extra time or product.

Six facts about hair color correction that influence the cost of the service

1. Most color correction services require many steps to get from start to finish
2. Most color corrections take many hours to complete because of the number of steps involved
3. Some brands of color are so stubborn that complete removal or coverage of the color is nearly impossible
