SALON POLICY

APPOINTMENTS

THIS HAS BEEN A DREADED SALON ISSUE FOR ALL SALONS. We have heard both sides of the tale, of the client can not be late, but the stylist sure can make you wait……It has been very hard to keep both sides satisfied In the salon profession, The stylists are not always made aware of hair conditions, processing may take longer than expected, or even having fragile hair. This is usually why a stylist may fall behind. We try to schedule extra time for chemical services, or treatments, but, not always will our estimated times be precise.

  • Please be sure to leave a contact number when making appointments, so we can call ahead to make appropriate changes for you, as we know your time is important as well. Gifts or discounts for rescheduling your appointment are often given when a situation arises, but please always let us know when you are unhappy, so we can correct our lack of satisfaction.
  • If you are not familiar with salon services, have never had your hair chemically altered before, or want to try something totally new and are unsure which of the services to book, please consider asking for a free 10 minute consultation before booking your appointment. Please note that without a consultation, enough time may not be scheduled for your desired look and you may need to schedule additional time that could result in an additional day needed. After your free 10 minute consultation, I will be happy to schedule your services, conveniently at my station or you can wait and think about, compare notes, or skip it all together with no obligation to me or the salon.
  • Please inform stylist if more time is usually required to style or color your hair.
  • Because we are concerned about your health and beauty, our salon is smoke-free.
  • We welcome all children accompanied by an adult to our salon area only. No children are allowed in the salon without supervision.
  • Reception desk, stylist stations, and retail products are not play stations and we asked that children not sit or play in these areas, are goal is to keep these areas clear, clean, and unbroken for our customers.
  • Scheduling allows ample time to complete services. Please help us by arriving on time so that you may receive the full benefit of your salon experience. Running late? Please call us to let us know, as we may not have time before our next client turns up. If you expect to arrive within 5 minutes of your scheduled appointment time, you need not call in—we assume you’re on your way. If you will be 10 minutes late or more, please be advised that calling in, while thoughtful, will not negate the fact of your tardiness and your service will likely be shortened or you may be asked to reschedule entirely if someone is waiting for services. This is in consideration of the clients with appointments following yours. Please allow sufficient travel time to navigate traffic congestion, road construction and parking. In general, we recommend planning to arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
  • If you are more than 10 minutes late for your scheduled appointment you may be asked to reschedule.
  • As a courtesy to other clients, we can only conduct your session within your scheduled appointment. Thanks for understanding.
  • Due to insurance restrictions, no children are allowed in designated service rooms. Unless the child is receiving a service, children are expected to be in waiting areas and toddlers are not to be left unattended.
  • Please mention specials, coupons, and gift certificates when scheduling your appointments.

  • By request, we will gladly email you to remind you.
  • All salon services requires an appointment. Of course we will try to get a walk-in or last minute caller in as soon as possible.
  • All color corrections and NEW color clients require a consultation by phone with stylist and then follow the recommendations required of your stylist.
  • We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone they believe is under the influence of drugs, alcohol or sick. Please understand, this is for the your safety and the safety of others.
  • Prices and hours are subject to change.
  • In the event that a scheduled service provider is unable to work, Mary L Hair & Body Care will do everything possible to notify you with 2 hours in advance of your appointment and reschedule the appointment in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • We take appointments up to a half-hour before we close. however, if you wish to get a service at the end of a day it may be a slow day, having an appointment will help assure we will be open.

SALON HOURS & CLOSINGS

Because we are a small business, we may occasionally have early/late open/closings, due to slower demand, classes, or other reasons. We are very honored that people would love to choose us 24 hours a day, but, we need precious self time too. We are currently trying some new ideas to lesson any missed service time with our current and new clients. Check the website, Happening Today, or salon bulletin board located in our entry way for times and new postings on salon.

E-mail or Text message anytime will confirm that you are requesting cancelation, and will document your contact date & time.

PAYMENT POLICY

If you are unable to pay for the services you are scheduled for, please reschedule your appointment. Please follow the Cancelation Policies when doing so.

We are sorry for any inconvenience, but our system’s policy requires that

  • Coupons and Gift certificates must be present at checkout.
  • Checks are not held for later date.
  • Coupons, discounts and gift certificates may not be applied to past accounts or bills on account.
  • You must present promotions/special pricing at time of check-out.
  • You must mention your discounts as they are not automatically applied to your bill.
  • If you wish to add a gratuity to a credit card, please notify us at the time of payment

Please note that there is a $35 FEE for INSUFFICIENT FUNDS

Special events, weddings, and group parties of 2 or more require a SIGNED AGREEMENT.

Prices are subject to change without notice, some pricing may vary due to Independent Technician or changes made to achieve the desired results.

To track your history with our salon, your ID or your finger print will be used. My salon software is set up to use your ID bar code or fingerprint to track your records. Basically, Every person in United States is required to carry picture identification such as a Driver's license, MN ID, or School ID that will work with our system.

We keep your purchases, services, formulas, rewards etc on file and can be easily located by swiping your ID card bar code or scanning your finger across a print reader. We decided to use this type of service instead of issuing you another plastic card to remember to carry, such as the many you already have (Staples, Best buy, Hyvee, Rewards Cards).

GIFT CERTIFICATES

Gift certificates may be purchased as a specific service with your desired stylist, products (retail) only, or monetary amounts with no select choice.

  • Coupons, discounts and gift certificates must be present at checkout.
  • Coupons, discounts and gift certificates may not be applied to past accounts or bills on account.

Q: What if I have lost my gift certificate?
A: Your certificate is considered the same as cash. It is necessary to keep track of this valuable property.

  • This certificate will be accepted in payment for merchandise at the address shown above and is non-redeemable in currency.
  • A valid gift certificate may be used by the holder regardless of the name on the entity, as our certificates are transferable.
  • Certificates are treated like cash, and are therefore non-refundable. If used to purchase merchandise subject to sales tax, sales taxes must be paid to the merchant.
  • Certificates do not expire, nor will their value depreciate over time.
  • Certificates are for one-time use, if the value exceeds the cost of services, the salon shall issue a store credit for the balance.
  • It is recommend that you present certificate upon arrival.
  • We are unable to change the gift certificate amount once the transaction is complete.
  • Certificates may not be used towards shipping and handling costs.
  • You may use a “monetary” gift certificate as cash, The “select” certificates must redeem the selected items listed on certificate.
  • To re-issue a gift certificate, please mail the certificate to:

Send certificate along with instructions as to how you would like us to re-issue the certificate and a check made payable to Mary L Hair & Body Care, for $6.95 to cover processing and DIRECT MAIL. We recommend that you photocopy your original or mail the certificate through a track delivery method, in order to lessen the risk of losing certificate details.

BASE PRICE

Please note that while we try to be as precise as possible in the description and pricing of our services, the actual time required for your appointment (and therefore the final cost of your services) may be different from the prices listed on our price guide or quote given to you over the phone.

Base Prices and a list of the hair services that each stylists offer can be found with their profile book/and website menu. All prices listed in this menu are base prices and may vary dependent on the client's hair quality, length, and condition or stylist. We will explain any additional charges in advance to providing the service.

A few things to help make your salon service successful!

  • Please inform stylist if more time is usually required to style or color your hair.
  • E-mail picture ideas days before your appointment
  • Print your own pictures and bring along so that stylist can use pictures as a guide
  • Arrive a few minutes early If you want to look at pictures for a new style.
  • If you think you want some extra services give us a call before you come in, we may be able to adjust our appointments for you and things will run a little smoother.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help with your home styling.
  • If you are canceling one of your services, let us know before you come in. That way we can offer the time to another client or use time for a lunch break. This also helps keep our prices down. (our appointments are like seats on a plane once it’s gone, it’s gone and we cant sell it again)

  • If you are not getting the results from a product, tell us so we can help you, some of our companies offer refunds. Products should do what they are meant to do!
  • If we find a product not working for many clients we will discontinue it and continue to search for products that do work.

Our hair designers have been trained in the traditional methods, and in all the latest styles and techniques. We believe that ongoing education is the key to our success in providing excellent customer service.

Our salon services are designed for both men and women and children.

Prices are subject to change.

Prices can not be quoted without a personal consultation from your stylist.

Our stylists are independent designers, meaning they are self employed. Although we work as a team, they are also self employed and decide their own services, prices, and schedules.

Following, you will find price ranges and booking guidelines for all our hair salon services. All prices listed are base prices and may vary dependent on the client's hair quality, length, and condition. We will explain any additional charges in advance or the additional charge is free.

Our prices do not include gratuities for service providers. Tipping is optional, but if the service meets or exceeds your expectations it is definitely appreciated.
